Purpose
Our hands serve many purposes. They hold, they lift, they feel. They express, they create. Hands are used for so many things, I don't think we realize just how much we use our hands. They make dinner, they type on a keyboard, or play an instrument. They can be used to speak a language all of their own. They are used to wipe the tears off a loved one's face, they are used to serve.
I think of my husband's hands, how I love holding them, how well they fit in my hands, and how soft and comforting they are. I love holding hands with my hubby, he makes me feel so safe and loved through this simple act.
Through recent experience, I think of the hands of surgeons and doctors, and all the good they do for others. I get emotional thinking of all the hands that have helped me and my family as loved ones recover from injury and illness. Many meals provided, and much assistance as I prepared to marry my sweet husband, and hold his hand forever. I think of the tender hands of my parents as they help their kids and each other through injury, recovery, and trial. My parents have some of the most loving hands.
I think of Christ's hands, how he always used them to serve others. He used his hands to bless the sick and afflicted, and to serve His Father.
One of the ways I use my hands is by drawing, painting, and sketching. There is something special about creating something new, or replicating something beautiful or unique. I think that using our hands to make things better, to beautify the world we live in, is something special. It is important to use the gifts we were given and step out of our comfort zone. Live life to the fullest, because we were not put on this earth to be complacent.
This brings me to the purpose of this blog. Usually, I'm not one to care if people see my work. I'm kind of rather shy about people seeing it, I don't really know why. But this is a space where I can show my work to those that are interested, and share stories and thoughts along the way. This is something I am really excited about, and I hope that by sharing the work of my hands, it can possibly benefit someone. So bear with me, this should be fun!

I like it.
